Adhyāya 290: Sāṃkhya-vidhi, Deha-doṣa, Guṇa-vicāra, and Mokṣa-gati
Bhīṣma–Yudhiṣṭhira Dialogue
सुखदु:खे समाधाय पुमानन्येन गच्छति । अन्येनैव जन: सर्व: संगतो यश्न पार्थिव:
sukha-duḥkhe samādhāya pumān anyena gacchati | anyenaiva janaḥ sarvaḥ saṅgato yac ca pārthivaḥ ||
ಸುಖದುಃಖಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೇ ಸಮಾಧಾನಗೊಳಿಸಿ ವಿವೇಕಿ ಪುರುಷನು ಬೇರೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದಿಂದ—ಮೋಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುವ ಪಥದಿಂದ—ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ರಾಜನೇ, ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬಂಧಿತರಾದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಜನರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ, ಪುತ್ರ, ಧನಾದಿ ಲೋಕಸಂಬಂಧಗಳೊಡನೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದಕಾರಣ ಜನನ-ಮರಣಚಕ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
