आत्मदर्शन-उपदेशः (Ātma-darśana Upadeśa) — Mind, Senses, and the All-pervading Self
अन्य युगोंमें शास्त्रोक्त धर्मका क्रमश: एक-एक चरण क्षीण होता जाता है और चोरी, असत्य तथा छल-कपट आदिके द्वारा अधर्मकी वृद्धि होने लगती है ।।
anye yugeṣu śāstroktasya dharmasya kramaśa ekaikaḥ pādaḥ kṣīyate, cauryānṛta-chala-kapaṭādibhiś cādharmasya vṛddhir bhavati. arogāḥ sarva-siddhārthāś catur-varṣa-śatāyuṣaḥ kṛte; tretā-yuge tv eṣāṃ pādaśo hrasate vayaḥ.
ಇತರ ಯುಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೋಕ್ತ ಧರ್ಮವು ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಪಾದದಷ್ಟು ಕ್ಷೀಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಕಳ್ಳತನ, ಸುಳ್ಳು ಮತ್ತು ಛಲಕಪಟಗಳಿಂದ ಅಧರ್ಮವು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೃತ (ಸತ್ಯ) ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ರೋಗರಹಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ಎಲ್ಲ ಉದ್ದೇಶಗಳು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಲ್ಕು ನೂರು ವರ್ಷ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಾರೆ; ತ್ರೇತಾಯುಗ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರ ಆಯುಷ್ಯ ಒಂದು ಚತುರ್ಥಾಂಶ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ—ಮುಂದಿನ ಯುಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಇಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.

Vyāsa is instructing about the characteristics of the world-ages: in Kṛta people are healthy and long-lived, and with the advent of later yugas their lifespan reduces stepwise, alongside a rise of adharma through unethical behaviors.
