क्षमस्व नचिरादिन्द्र त्वामप्युपगमिष्यति । इन्द्र! मैं सदा सावधान रहता था
kṣamasva nacirād indra tvām apy upagamiṣyati |
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಹೇ ಇಂದ್ರನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸು; ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲವಿಲ್ಲ, ಕಾಲವು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಬಂದು ಬೀಳುವುದು. ನಾನು ಸದಾ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಿಂದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಅಲಸ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದ ಕಾಲವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದು ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ಹೊಡೆಯುವುದು. ಈ ಕಹಿ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸು.
