धृतिमानात्मवान् बुद्धि निगृह्लीयादसंशयम् । मनो बुद्धया निगृह्लीयाद् विषयान्मनसा55त्मन:
Translation
ಧೈರ್ಯವಂತನೂ ಆತ್ಮಸಂಯಮಿಯೂ ಆದ ಪುರುಷನು ನಿಸ್ಸಂದೇಹವಾಗಿ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವುದು; ನಂತರ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸುವುದು; ಮತ್ತು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೋಗದಂತೆ ತಡೆದು ತನ್ನ ಅಧೀನಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವುದು.
