Prahlāda–Indra Saṃvāda: Kartṛtva (Agency) and Svabhāva (Nature) in the Causation of Karma

कल्कापेतामपरुषामनृशंसामपैशुनाम्‌ । ईदृगल्पं च वक्तव्यमविक्षिप्तेन चेतसा

kalkāpetām aparuṣām anṛśaṃsām apaiśunām | īdṛg-alpaṃ ca vaktavyam avikṣiptena cetasā ||

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಮಲಿನತೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ, ಕಠೋರವಲ್ಲದ, ಕ್ರೂರವಲ್ಲದ, ಪರನಿಂದೆಯಿಂದ ಮಸುಕಾಗದ ಮಾತನ್ನೇ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು. ಅಂಥ ಮಾತನ್ನೂ ಅಲ್ಪಮಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಚಿತ್ತವು ಚದುರದ ಸ್ಥಿರಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು—ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಧರ್ಮದ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹಿತಕರ ವಚನವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲು ಬಯಸುವವನು।
