वरश्न मम पूर्व हि दत्तो देव्या महाबल । श्रद्धा ते जपतो नित्यं भवत्विति विशाम्पते,“महाबली प्रजानाथ! मुझे देवी सावित्रीने वर दिया है कि जपमें तुम्हारी नित्य श्रद्धा बनी रहेगी”
varaśna mama pūrva hi datto devyā mahābala | śraddhā te japato nityaṁ bhavatv iti viśāmpate ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಹೇ ಮಹಾಬಲನೇ! ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಿಯು ನನಗೆ ಈ ವರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಳು—‘ಹೇ ಪ್ರಜಾನಾಥ! ನೀ ನಿತ್ಯ ಜಪ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆ ಸದಾ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿರಲಿ.’
