Adhyāya 199: Karma–Jñāna Causality and the Nirguṇa Brahman

ब्राह्मण उवाच न रोचये स्वर्गवासं विना देहमहं विभो । गच्छ धर्म न मे श्रद्धा स्वर्ग गन्तुं विना55त्मना

Transliteration

brāhmaṇa uvāca | na rocaye svargavāsaṃ vinā deham ahaṃ vibho | gaccha dharma na me śraddhā svargaṃ gantuṃ vinātmanā ||

Translation

ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಹೇ ವಿಭೋ, ಈ ದೇಹವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸ್ವರ್ಗವಾಸ ನನಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹೇ ಧರ್ಮ, ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೋಗು. ಈ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಲು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಪವೂ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯೂ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
