न ते चालयितुं शक्‍या धर्मव्यापारकारिण: । न तेषां भिद्यते वृत्तं यत्पुरा साधुभि: कृतम्‌

Transliteration

na te cālayituṁ śakyā dharmavyāpārakāriṇaḥ | na teṣāṁ bhidyate vṛttaṁ yat pūrā sādhubhiḥ kṛtam ||

Translation

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಧರ್ಮಾಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರುವವರನ್ನು ಸತ್ಕರ್ಮದಿಂದ ಕದಲಿಸಲಾಗದು. ಅವರ ಸ್ಥಿರ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಭಂಗವಾಗದು; ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದ ಸಾಧುಗಳು ಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ಸದಾಚಾರವನ್ನೇ ಅವರು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆ ಮಹತ್ತಾದ ಶಿಸ್ತು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ನಾಶವಾಗದು.
