कपोत-लुब्धकसंवादः — Hunter’s Remorse and Renunciatory Resolve

न धर्मवचन वाचा नैव बुद्धयेति नः श्रुतम्‌ । इति बार्हस्पतं ज्ञानं प्रोवाच मघवा स्वयम्‌

na dharmavacana-vācā naiva buddhayeti naḥ śrutam | iti bārhaspataṃ jñānaṃ provāca maghavā svayam ||

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ನಾವು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇವೆ: ಧರ್ಮವು ಕೇವಲ ವಾಕ್ಚಾತುರ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಕೇವಲ ಬುದ್ಧಿ-ತರ್ಕದಿಂದಲೂ ಅಲ್ಲ—ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವಚನ ಮತ್ತು ಯುಕ್ತಿ ಎರಡರ ಸಂಯೋಗದಿಂದ ಧರ್ಮನಿರ್ಣಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಬೃಹಸ್ಪತಿಯ ಉಪದೇಶ; ಇದನ್ನೇ ಮಘವಾ (ಇಂದ್ರ) ಸ್ವತಃ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
