न ववर्ष सहस्राक्ष: प्रतिलोमो5भवद्‌ गुरु: । जगाम दक्षिण मार्ग सोमो व्यावृत्तलक्षण:

Transliteration

na vavarṣa sahasrākṣaḥ pratilomo 'bhavad guruḥ | jagāma dakṣiṇa-mārgaṃ somo vyāvṛtta-lakṣaṇaḥ ||

Translation

ಸಹಸ್ರಾಕ್ಷ ಇಂದ್ರನು ಮಳೆ ಸುರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಗುರು (ಬೃಹಸ್ಪತಿ) ಪ್ರತಿಲೋಮ (ವಕ್ರ) ಗತಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿದನು; ಮತ್ತು ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ವ್ಯತ್ಯಸ್ತವಾದ ಸೋಮ (ಚಂದ್ರ) ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದನು.
