Protection of the Refuge-Seeker: Opening of the Kapota Narrative
यथावदुक्त वचन हितार्थिना निशम्य विप्रेण सुवीरराष्ट्रप: तथाकरोदू् वाक्यमदीनचेतन: श्रियं च दीप्तां बुभुजे सबान्धव:
yathāvad ukta-vacanaṁ hitārthinā niśamya vipreṇa su-vīra-rāṣṭrapaḥ | tathākarod vākyaṁ adīna-cetanaḥ śriyaṁ ca dīptāṁ bubhuje sa-bāndhavaḥ ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಹಿತಾರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನು ಯಥಾವತ್ತಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ ಸುಭಾಷಿತ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸಮ್ಯಕವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿ, ಆ ವೀರದೇಶದ ರಾಜನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. ಅದೆಣೆಯದ ಸ್ಥಿರಚಿತ್ತದಿಂದ ಅವನು ಬಂಧು-ಬಾಂಧವರೊಡನೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾದ ಶ್ರೀಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದನು.
