राजा शत्रुंजयो नाम सौवीरेषु महारथ: । भारद्वाजमुपागम्य पप्रच्छार्थविनिश्चवयम्‌

Transliteration

rājā śatruñjayo nāma sauvīreṣu mahārathaḥ | bhāradvājam upāgamya papracchārtha-viniścayam ||

Translation

ಸೌವೀರ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಶತ್ರುಂಜಯ ಎಂಬ ಮಹಾರಥ ರಾಜನಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಭಾರದ್ವಾಜನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ತನ್ನ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯದ ಕುರಿತು ನಿಶ್ಚಿತ ನಿರ್ಣಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದನು.
