कुमित्रे संगतिर्नास्ति नित्यमस्थिरसौहदे । अवमान: कुसम्बन्धे भवत्यर्थविपर्यये,कुमित्रका स्नेह कभी स्थिर नहीं रह सकता, इसलिये उसके साथ सदा मेल बना रहे-- यह असम्भव है और जहाँ दूषित सम्बन्ध हो, वहाँ स्वार्थमें अन्तर आनेपर अपमान होने लगता है
kumitre saṅgatir nāsti nityam asthira-sauhade | avamānaḥ kusambandhe bhavaty artha-viparyaye ||
ದುಷ್ಟ ಮಿತ್ರನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಿರ ಸಂಗತಿ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನ ಸ್ನೇಹ ಸದಾ ಅಸ್ಥಿರ. ಸಂಬಂಧವೇ ದೂಷಿತವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಹಿತಾಸಕ್ತಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲೇ ಅವಮಾನ ತಪ್ಪದು.
