The Episode on the Emaciation Caused by Hope
पितामहाशा महती ममासीद्धि सुयोधने । प्राप्ते युद्धे तु तद् युक्त तत् कर्तायमिति प्रभो
Pitāmahāśā mahatī mamāsīd dhi Suyodhane | prāpte yuddhe tu tad yuktaṃ tat kartāyam iti prabho, Pitāmaha!
ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಪಿತಾಮಹ! ಸುಯೋಧನನ ಮೇಲೆ ನನಗೆ ಮಹತ್ತರವಾದ ಆಶೆಯಿತ್ತು. ಯುದ್ಧದ ಸಮಯ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನು ಯುಕ್ತವಾದ, ಧರ್ಮಸಮ್ಮತವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡುವನೆಂದು ನಾನು ಭಾವಿಸಿದ್ದೆ. ಪ್ರಭು ಪಿತಾಮಹ! ಯುದ್ಧವಿಲ್ಲದೆಲೇ ಅವನು ನನಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅರ್ಧವನ್ನು ಮರಳಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಂಬಿದ್ದೆ.
