पश्येदुपायान् विविधै: क्रियापथै- न चानुपायेन मतिं निवेशयेत् । श्रियं विशिष्टां विपुलं यशो धनं न दोषदर्शी पुरुष: समश्चुते
paśyed upāyān vividhaiḥ kriyāpathair na cānupāyena matiṁ niveśayet | śriyaṁ viśiṣṭāṁ vipulaṁ yaśo dhanaṁ na doṣadarśī puruṣaḥ samaśnute ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ರಾಜನು ವಿವಿಧ ಕಾರ್ಯಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಿಂದ ಜಯೋಪಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಬೇಕು; ಅಯೋಗ್ಯ ಉಪಾಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ನೆಲೆಗೊಳಿಸಬಾರದು. ನಿರ್ದೋಷರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವವನು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಶ್ರೀ, ಅಪಾರ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ಧನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲಾರನು.
