Vetasa-Nīti: The Reed and the Flood (वेतस-नीति)
वेतसो वेगमायातं दृष्टवा नमति नापरे | सरिद्वेगेडव्यतिक्रान्ते स्थानमासाद्य तिष्ठति
vetaso vegam āyātaṃ dṛṣṭvā namati nāpare | sarid-vege ’py atikrānte sthānam āsādya tiṣṭhati ||
ಸಾಗರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ನದಿಯ ವೇಗ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ವೇತಸವು ಬಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಇತರ ಮರಗಳು ಬಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನದಿಯ ಪ್ರವಾಹದ ಬಲ ತೀರಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅದು ಮತ್ತೆ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ನಿಂತಿರುತ್ತದೆ।
