शकुनि (हिरण्मय-पक्षी) उपदेशः — Vighasāśin and the Difficulty of Gārhasthya

अपन बक। ] अत्शका:<ह एकादशोब< ध्याय: अर्जुनका पक्षिरूपधारी इन्द्र और ऋषिबालकोंके संवादका उल्लेखपूर्वक गृहस्थ-धर्मके पालनपर जोर देना अजुन उवाच अनत्रैवोदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम्‌ | तापसै: सह संवाद शक्रस्य भरतर्षभ,अर्जुनने कहा--भरतश्रेष्ठ! इसी विषयमें जानकार लोग तापसोंके साथ जो इन्द्रका संवाद हुआ था, उस प्राचीन इतिहासका उदाहरण दिया करते हैं

Arjuna uvāca | anatraivodāharantīmam itihāsaṃ purātanam | tāpasaiḥ saha saṃvādaṃ śakrasya bharatarṣabha ||

ಅರ್ಜುನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಹೇ ಭರತಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನೇ! ಇದೇ ಸಂಬಂಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಂಡಿತರು ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ಉದಾಹರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ—ತಪಸ್ವಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶಕ್ರ (ಇಂದ್ರ)ನ ಸಂವಾದ. ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಅರಿತು, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಗೃಹಸ್ಥಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಲಿಸಲು ಅದು ಉಪದೇಶವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಮರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ.
