Śalya’s Consecration as Senāpati and Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira (शल्यस्य सेनापत्यभिषेकः)
ततो दुर्योधनो भूमौ स्थित्वा रथवरे स्थितम्
tato duryodhano bhūmau sthitvā rathavare sthitam | yatra mitram amitraṃ vā parīkṣante budhā janāḥ ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಆಮೇಲೆ ದುರ್ಯೋಧನನು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ರಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸೀನನಾದ ರಾಜನನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತಾಡಿದನು—ಇದು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಮಿತ್ರನೋ ಶತ್ರುವೋ ಎಂದು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಕಾಲ. ಯುದ್ಧಭೂಮಿಯ ಧರ್ಮಸಂಕಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ಕೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅವನು ನಿಷ್ಠೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪಕ್ಷನಿರ್ಣಯದ ನಿರ್ಣಾಯಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯೆಂದು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದನು।
