Śalya’s Consecration as Senāpati and Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira (शल्यस्य सेनापत्यभिषेकः)
गुरुपुत्रो5द्य सर्वेषामस्माकं परमा गति: । भवांस्तस्मान्नियोगात्ते को<स्तु सेनापतिर्मम
sañjaya uvāca | guruputro 'dya sarveṣām asmākaṁ paramā gatiḥ | bhavāṁs tasmān niyogāt te ko 'stu senāpatir mama ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— “ಗುರುಪುತ್ರನೇ! ಇಂದು ನೀನೇ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಪರಮ ಆಶ್ರಯ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಂತೆ ನಾನು ಸೇನಾಪತಿಯನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಲು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಹೇಳು—ಈಗ ನನ್ನ ಸೇನಾಪತಿ ಯಾರು ಆಗಬೇಕು? ಅವನನ್ನು ಮುಂಚೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ನಾವು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಂಡವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಜಯ ಪಡೆಯೋಣ.”
