उवाच च सुरश्रेष्ठस्तां कन्यां सुदृढव्रताम्‌ प्रीतो5स्मि ते शुभे भकक्‍त्या तपसा नियमेन च

vaiśampāyana uvāca | uvāca ca suraśreṣṭhas tāṃ kanyāṃ sudṛḍhavratām | prīto 'smi te śubhe bhaktyā tapasā niyamena ca | tataḥ kalyāṇi te manasi yo 'bhīṣṭo manorathaḥ sa pūrṇaḥ bhaviṣyati | mahābhāge tvaṃ imaṃ śarīraṃ parityajya svargaloke mayā saha vasiṣyasi |

ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಆಮೇಲೆ ದೇವಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಇಂದ್ರನು, ಅಚಲವಾಗಿ ವ್ರತಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ಆ ಕನ್ಯೆಯ ತಪಸ್ಸು, ನಿಯಮ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂತುಷ್ಟನಾಗಿ ಹೀಗೆಂದನು—“ಶುಭೇ! ನಿನ್ನ ತಪಸ್ಸು, ನಿಯಮಾಚರಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನಾನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಿ! ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಭೀಷ್ಟ ಮನೋರಥವು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಿಸುವುದು. ಮಹಾಭಾಗೇ! ಈ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಸಾನ್ನಿಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವೆ.”
