तत्परा शुचिसंवीता पावके समधिश्रयत् । अपचदू राजशार्दूल बदराणि महाव्रता
tatparā śucisaṃvītā pāvake samadhiśrayat | apacadū rājaśārdūla badarāṇi mahāvratā ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ರಾಜಶಾರ್ದೂಲನೇ! ಶೌಚದಿಂದ ಆವರಿತಳಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತತ್ಪರಳಾದ ಆ ಮಹಾವ್ರತ ಕನ್ಯೆ ಮೌನವಾಗಿ ಫಲಗಳನ್ನು ಅಗ್ನಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟಳು. ನೃಪಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನೇ! ನಂತರ ಅವಳು ಸ್ಥಿರ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಬದರ (ಬೇರು) ಫಲಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇಯಿಸಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದಳು.
