Trita in the Well (Udapāna-kathā) — Balarāma’s Tīrtha Observances

विपण्यापणपण्यानां नानाजनशतैर्व॑त: । नानाद्रुमलतोपेतो नानारत्नविभूषित:

Transliteration

vipaṇyāpaṇapaṇyānāṃ nānā-janāśatair vṛtaḥ | nānā-druma-latopeto nānā-ratna-vibhūṣitaḥ ||

Translation

ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಆ ದಾರಿಯ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಖರೀದಿ-ಮಾರಾಟದ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ನಿರಂತರ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯೊಂದು ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿತ್ತು; ಅದು ನಾನಾ ವಿಧದ ನೂರಾರು ಜನರಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿತ್ತು. ಆ ಬಜಾರ್-ಯಾತ್ರೆ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಮರ-ಲತೆಗಳಿಂದ ಶೋಭಿತವಾಗಿ, ಅನೇಕ ರತ್ನಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿತವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
