धर्मराजस्तथा षष्ट्या गात्रे शल्यं समार्पयत्‌ । तत्पश्चात्‌ भीमसेनने सत्तर, सात्यकिने नौ और धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरने साठ बाणोंसे शल्यके शरीरको चोट पहुँचायी

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | dharmarājas tathā ṣaṣṭyā gātre śalyaṃ samārpayat | tatpaścāt bhīmasenena saptatyā sātyakine navabhiḥ dharmarājā yudhiṣṭhirena ṣaṣṭyā bāṇaiḥ śalyasya śarīraṃ samāhatam |

Translation

ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಧರ್ಮರಾಜ ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನು ಶಲ್ಯನ ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಅರವತ್ತು ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೂಡಿದನು. ನಂತರ ಭೀಮಸೇನನು ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು, ಸಾತ್ಯಕಿಯು ಒಂಬತ್ತು, ಮತ್ತೆ ಧರ್ಮರಾಜನು ಅರವತ್ತು ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ಶಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಗಾಯಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು. ಯುದ್ಧಧರ್ಮದ ಕಠೋರ ನಿಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಂಡವರು ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯನಿಷ್ಠ ದೃಢ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪದಿಂದ ಆಕ್ರಮಣವನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದರು.
