शल्यस्य पाण्डवसेनापीडनम् — Śalya’s Assault on the Pāṇḍava Host
with Omens and Bhīma’s Counter
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत शल्यपर्वमें संकुलयुद्धविषयक नवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
samārcchac citrasenaṃ tu nakulo yuddha-durmadaḥ | tau parasparam āsādya citra-kārmuka-dhāriṇau ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಅದೇ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧೋನ್ಮತ್ತನಾದ ನಕುಲನು ಕರ್ಣಪುತ್ರ ಚಿತ್ರಸೇನನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ಧನುಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ವೀರರು ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತರ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಎರಡು ಮಹಾ ಮಳೆಯಮೋಡಗಳಂತೆ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಬಾಣವರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
