शल्यस्य पाण्डवसेनापीडनम् — Śalya’s Assault on the Pāṇḍava Host
with Omens and Bhīma’s Counter
ततः प्रववृते युद्ध भीरूणां भयवर्धनम् । तावकानां परेषां च मृत्युं कृत्वा निवर्तनम्
tataḥ pravavṛte yuddhaṁ bhīrūṇāṁ bhayavardhanam | tāvakānāṁ pareṣāṁ ca mṛtyuṁ kṛtvā nivartanam ||
ನಂತರ ಭೀರರ ಭಯವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಭೀಕರ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಉಕ್ಕಿಬಂತು। ನಿನ್ನವರೂ ಶತ್ರುಪಕ್ಷದವರೂ ಅಂಥ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋರಾಡಿದರು—ಮರಣವೇ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗುವ ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು; ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಬಳಿಕ ಅಥವಾ ಪ್ರಾಣಘಾತಕ ಅಪಾಯದಿಂದ ಬಲವಂತಗೊಂಡ ಬಳಿಕ ಮಾತ್ರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸರಿದನು।
