युधिछिर उवाच द्यूते क्षत्त: कलहो विद्यते नः को वै द्यूत॑ रोचयेद्‌ बुध्यमान: । कि वा भवान्‌ मन्यते युक्तरूपं भवद्वाक्ये सर्व एव स्थिता: सम

Transliteration

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | dyūte kṣattaḥ kalaho vidyate naḥ ko vai dyūtaṃ rocayed budhyamānaḥ | kiṃ vā bhavān manyate yuktarūpaṃ bhavadvākye sarva eva sthitāḥ sma ||

Translation

ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಹೇ ಕ್ಷತ್ತೃ (ವಿದುರ), ಪಾಶಕ್ರೀಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಹ-ವೈರ ಉಂಟಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನು ಯಾರು ಜೂಜನ್ನು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ? ನಿಮಗೆ ಯುಕ್ತವೂ ಯೋಗ್ಯವೂ ಎನಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿರಿ; ನಾವು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಡೆಯಲು ಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.
