अर्जुनस्य दिग्विजयारम्भः — Arjuna Initiates the Northern Campaign and Secures Bhagadattta’s Tribute
प्रकर्षणाकर्षणा भ्यामनुकर्षविकर्षणै: । आचर्कर्षतुरन्योन्यं जानुभिश्वावजघ्नतु:
prakarṣaṇākarṣaṇābhyām anukarṣavikarṣaṇaiḥ | ācarakarṣatur anyonyaṃ jānubhiś cāvajaghnatuḥ ||
ಅವರು ಪರಸ್ಪರರನ್ನು ಬಲವಾಗಿ ತಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಎಳೆಯುತ್ತಾ—ಮರುಮರು ಎಳೆತ-ಕಿತ್ತಾಟ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ—ಸನ್ನಿಹಿತ ಸಮರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಪುನಃಪುನಃ ಪ್ರಹಾರಗಳಿಂದ ದೇಹಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸವೆತಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಗಾಯಗಳು ಉಂಟಾದವು; ನಂತರ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಕೆಡವಿ ಮೊಣಕಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು, ನುಚ್ಚುನೂರಾಗಿ ಒತ್ತಿ ಉರುಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು—ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯ ಉರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಯಮ ಮರೆತು.
