Pitāmaha-sabhā-varṇana & Hariścandra-māhātmya

Description of Brahmā’s Assembly and the Eminence of Hariścandra

kṣaṇā lavā muhūrtāś ca divārātris tathaiva ca | ardhāmāsāś ca māsāś ca ṛtavaḥ ṣaṭ ca bhārata yudhiṣṭhira |

Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes the ordered, measurable progression of time—from the smallest instants to seasons—suggesting a stable cosmic rhythm within which human action (dharma) must be understood and practiced.

Nārada addresses Yudhiṣṭhira and begins/continues an instructive explanation by listing standard divisions of time, setting a reflective frame for understanding events and duties within the larger order of the world.
