तमघध्नन्त महेष्वासा: शरै: शतसहस््रश: । न चाशक्यत वेद्धुं स सर्वभूतात्ययस्तदा
tam agha-ghnanta maheṣvāsāḥ śaraiḥ śata-sahasraśaḥ | na cāśakyata veddhuṃ sa sarva-bhūtātyayas tadā ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದರು— ಮಹಾವಿಲ್ಲುಧಾರಿಗಳು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಶತಸಹಸ್ರ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಮರುಮರು ಸುರಿಸಿದರು; ಆದರೂ ಆ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು যেন ಸರ್ವಭೂತಗಳ ‘ಅತ್ಯಯ’—ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ ವಿನಾಶ—ಸ್ವರೂಪನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
