नकुलस्तं तु विंशत्या विद्ध्वा भारसहैर्दढे: । ननाद बलवन्नादं कर्णस्य भयमादधत्,नकुलने भी भार सहन करनेमें समर्थ बीस सुदृढ़ बाणोंद्वारा सुषेणको घायल करके कर्णके मनमें भय उत्पन्न करते हुए बड़े जोरसे गर्जना की
nakulas taṃ tu viṃśatyā viddhvā bhārasahair dṛḍhaiḥ | nanāda balavan nādaṃ karṇasya bhayam ādadat ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ನಕುಲನು ಭಾರ ತಾಳಬಲ್ಲ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ದೃಢ ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ, ಕರ್ಣನ ಮನದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯ ಹುಟ್ಟುವಂತೆ ಮಹಾನಾದದಿಂದ ಗರ್ಜಿಸಿದನು।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights a warrior’s duty and the strategic dimension of battle: courage is expressed not only through skillful action (accurate, forceful arrows) but also through morale and intimidation (a mighty roar) that can unsettle even a renowned opponent.
During the fighting in Karṇa Parva, Nakula wounds Suṣeṇa with twenty strong arrows and then roars loudly; this display of valor and dominance is described as creating fear in Karṇa.
