Chapter 45
आनकानां च राधेय मृदड़ानां च सर्वशः । “राधानन्दन! सब ओर शंखों, ढोलों और मृदंगोंकी रोमांचकारी तुमुल ध्वनि सुनायी दे रही है
ānakānāṃ ca rāḍheya mṛdaṅgānāṃ ca sarvaśaḥ |
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ರಾಧೇಯ, ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಶಂಖಗಳು, ಡೋಲುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮೃದಂಗಗಳ ರೋಮಾಂಚಕಾರಿ, ಭಾರೀ ಕೋಲಾಹಲ ಧ್ವನಿ ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how collective momentum in war is amplified by sensory signals—especially sound—reminding readers that conflict is not only strategic but also psychological, driven by arousal, pride, and mass emotion that can eclipse discernment (dharma-viveka).
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, addressing Karṇa as Rādheya, that loud drums (ānaka, mṛdaṅga) are resounding everywhere, indicating the armies’ mobilization and the intensifying imminence of battle.
