Hearing of Karṇa’s Fall, Accounting of Losses, and Naming of Remaining Warriors
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत कर्णपर्वमें संजयवाक्य नामक तीसरा अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraṁ śrīmahābhārate karṇaparvaṇi sañjayavākya-nāmakaḥ tṛtīyo 'dhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ | sa śabdaḥ pṛthivīṁ kṛtsnāṁ pūrayāmāsa sarvaśaḥ | rodanakaḥ sa śabdaḥ tatra samūce bhūmaṇḍale vyāptaḥ abhavat | bharatakulasya striyaḥ atyanta-ghora-śoka-samudre nimagnāḥ | tāsāṁ cittaṁ atyantaṁ udvignaṁ abhavat | tāḥ duḥkha-śokena kātarāḥ bhūtvā phūṭ-phūṭ-kṛtvā ruroduḥ |
ಇಂತೆ ಶ್ರೀಮಹಾಭಾರತದ ಕರ್ಣಪರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ “ಸಂಜಯವಾಕ್ಯ” ಎಂಬ ಮೂರನೇ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯವು ಸಮಾಪ್ತವಾಯಿತು. ಆ ಅಳಲಿನ ಧ್ವನಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿತು. ಭರತಕುಲದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಘೋರ ಶೋಕಸಾಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿದರು; ಅವರ ಚಿತ್ತವು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಉದ್ವಿಗ್ನಗೊಂಡು, ದುಃಖ-ಶೋಕದಿಂದ ಆವರಿತರಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಬಿಕ್ಕಿ ಬಿಕ್ಕಿ ಅತ್ತರು।
