Educational Q&A

Words that are timely and strategically framed can strongly sway a leader’s emotions and resolve. The verse hints at an ethical tension: persuasive counsel may reinforce a warlike course even when the larger dharmic consequences remain grave.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Duryodhana, after hearing Karna’s suitably chosen remarks, becomes very pleased and encouraged, along with his entourage—signaling renewed confidence in the Kaurava camp.
