Adhyāya 35 — Bhīmasena’s Counter-Encirclement and the Karṇa Engagement Escalation
saṁstūyamānau tau vīrau tadāstāṁ dyutimattamau
The verse highlights how public acclaim and recognition of valor amplify a warrior’s perceived radiance and stature; ethically, it reflects the kṣatriya-world emphasis on honor, reputation, and the social power of praise in shaping conduct during war.
Sañjaya describes a moment on the battlefield when two unnamed heroes are being extolled by others; in that charged setting they stand forth as the most splendid, suggesting a pause or tableau of celebrated martial presence before further action.
