कर्णस्य दानप्रतिज्ञा–शल्योपदेश–वाक्ययुद्धम्

कबन्धान्युत्थितानि स्यु: शतशो5थ सहस्रश: । इस प्रकार जब सभी योद्धा युद्धमें लगे थे और तुमुल संग्राम चल रहा था, उस समय सैकड़ों और हजारों कबन्ध (धड़) उठ खड़े हुए थे
kabandhāny utthitāni syuḥ śataśo 'tha sahasraśaḥ |
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಆ ಘೋರ ತುಮುಲ ಸಂಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ, ಎಲ್ಲ ಯೋಧರೂ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿದ್ದಾಗ, ನೂರಾರು—ಸಾವಿರಾರು—ಶಿರೋವಿಹೀನ ದೇಹಗಳು (ಕಬಂಧಗಳು) ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತವು; ಅದು ಯುದ್ಧದ ಕ್ರೂರತೆಯ ಭಯಾನಕ ಸೂಚನೆಯಂತೆ ಕಂಡಿತು.
