जामदग्न्यो ह्ृतियशा मरिष्यति महाद्युति: । इस प्रकार भूगुकुलकी कीर्ति बढ़ानेवाले महायशस्वी, महातेजस्वी और सैकड़ों गुणोंसे सम्पन्न जमदग्निनन्दन परशुराम भी एक-न-एक दिन मरेंगे ही
jāmadagnyo hṛtiyaśā mariṣyati mahādyutiḥ |
ನಾರದನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—“ಭೃಗುಕುಲದ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದ ಮಹಾಯಶಸ್ವಿ, ಮಹಾತೇಜಸ್ವಿ ಜಾಮದಗ್ನ್ಯ ಪರಶುರಾಮನೂ ಒಂದೇ ದಿನ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಮರಣವನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವನು.”
नारद उवाच
The core teaching is the universality of death: even the most illustrious and powerful figures are subject to mortality. This encourages humility, reduces pride in fame or lineage, and supports a dharmic outlook grounded in detachment and right conduct.
Nārada makes a pointed statement about Paraśurāma (Jāmadagnya), emphasizing that despite his immense renown and brilliance, he too will inevitably die. The remark functions as a sobering reflection within the larger war context, where heroes and reputations are constantly weighed against the certainty of death.
