Educational Q&A

A righteous ruler should ensure stable succession and the welfare/order of society first, and only then relinquish attachment to power; true fulfillment culminates in renunciation and attainment of the supreme goal.

Nārada describes a king who establishes an eightfold dynastic arrangement through sons representing portions of himself and his brothers, settles the people of all four varṇas in his own realm/abode, and then departs bodily to the supreme abode.
