अभिमन्योर् दारुणः संमर्दः
Abhimanyu’s fierce melee amid chariot formations
स विस्फार्य महच्चापं किरजन्निषुगणान् बहून् । तत् खण्डं पूरयामास यद् व्यदारयदार्जुनि:
sa visphārya mahācāpaṃ kirajann iṣugaṇān bahūn | tat khaṇḍaṃ pūrayāmāsa yad vyadārayad arjuniḥ ||
ಅವನು ಮಹಾಧನುಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಎಳೆದು ಅನೇಕ ಬಾಣಗುಚ್ಛಗಳನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸಿ, ಅರ್ಜುನನು ಚೀರಿ ತೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಆ ಬಿರುಕು ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿದನು.
संजय उवाच
In the ethics of kṣatriya-dharma, a commander must not allow disorder to spread: when a breach is made, it is immediately contained through disciplined force and coordinated response. The verse highlights resolve, tactical presence of mind, and the duty to protect one’s side from collapse.
Arjuna has torn open a section of the opposing battle-array. In response, a warrior draws his great bow and rains volleys of arrows to ‘fill’ or close that breach, preventing Arjuna’s breakthrough from widening.
