प्रणयादभिमानाच्च द्विषद्वृद्धा च दुर्मना: । शृण्वतां सर्वयोधानां संरब्धो वाक्यकोविद:

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca |

prāṇayād abhimānāc ca dviṣad-vṛddhā ca durmanāḥ |

śṛṇvatāṃ sarva-yodhānāṃ saṃrabdho vākya-kovidaḥ ||

Translation

ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಅಭ್ಯುದಯದಿಂದ ಅವನು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನೊಳಗೆ ಬಹಳ ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟನು. ದ್ರೋಣಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ತನ್ನ ಶೌರ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಭಿಮಾನವೂ ಅವನಿಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಉರಿದು, ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಪುಣನಾದ ರಾಜ ದುರ್ಯೋಧನನು ಎಲ್ಲ ಯೋಧರು ಕೇಳುವಂತೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು—
