Droṇa’s Renewed Advance toward Yudhiṣṭhira; Fall of Satyajit and Allied Recoil (द्रोणस्य युधिष्ठिरप्रेप्सा—सत्यजितः पतनम्)
तेषां संसक्तगात्राणां कर्षतामितरेतरम् । दन्तसंघातसंघर्षात् सधूमो5ग्निरजायत,वे एक-दूसरेसे अपने शरीरोंको सटाकर आपसमें खींचातानी करते थे। दाँतोंसे दाँतोंपर टक्कर लगनेसे धूमसहित आग-सी उठने लगती थी
teṣāṁ saṁsaktagātrāṇāṁ karṣatām itaretaram | dantasaṅghātasaṅgharṣāt sadhūmo 'gnir ajāyata ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಅವರು ಅಂಗಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಜೋಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಎಳೆದು ಮರುಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು; ದಂತಗಳ ಢಿಕ್ಕಿ ಮತ್ತು ಘರ್ಷಣೆಯಿಂದ ಧೂಮಸಹಿತ ಅಗ್ನಿಯಂತೆ ಜ್ವಾಲೆ ಉದಯವಾಯಿತು.

Sañjaya narrates close-quarters combat: fighters are locked body-to-body, pulling each other violently, and their teeth clash so harshly that it is poetically likened to smoke-laden fire arising from the friction.
