तावका निहते द्रोणे गतासव इवाभवन् | युद्धमें आपके बहुत योद्धा तीखे बाणोंद्वारा मारे गये थे और बहुत-से अधमरे हो रहे थे। द्रोणाचार्यके मारे जानेपर वे सभी निष्प्राण-से हो गये

ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ದ್ರೋಣಾಚಾರ್ಯನು ಹತನಾದ ನಂತರ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯೋಧರು ಪ್ರಾಣವಿಲ್ಲದವರಂತೆ ಆಗಿದರು. ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣ ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ಅನೇಕರು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದರು, ಅನೇಕರು ಮರಣಾಸನ್ನರಾಗಿದ್ದರು; ದ್ರೋಣನ ಪತನವು ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದ ಧೈರ್ಯ-ಬಲವನ್ನೂ ಅವರಿಂದ ಕಸಿದುಕೊಂಡಿತು.
