Educational Q&A

Even amid adharma-driven violence, the text frames the fall or departure of a great person through imagery of tejas (inner splendor). The ethical tension is that war consumes lives, yet the narrative still recognizes dignity, impermanence, and the awe inspired by extraordinary capability.

Sanjaya reports a striking vision: Drona appears to rise upward, as if the sky were held still, and is seen moving like a smokeless, blazing meteor from one point to another—an omen-like description marking a decisive moment connected with Drona’s end.
