सैन्येन रजसा मूढं सर्वमन्धमिवा भवत् । उस अवस्थामें न आकाशका, न पृथ्वीका और न दिशाओंका ही पता लगता था। सेनाद्वारा उड़ायी हुई धूलसे आच्छादित होकर वहाँ सब कुछ अन्धकारमय हो गया था
sainyena rajasā mūḍhaṃ sarvam andham ivābhavat |
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಸೈನ್ಯ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ ಧೂಳಿನಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಗೊಂದಲಗೊಂಡು, ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಅಂಧಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಧವಾದಂತೆ ಆಯಿತು. ಆ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕಾಶವೂ ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳೂ ಯಾವುದೂ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಸೇನಾಧೂಳಿನಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಕತ್ತಲ್ಮಯವಾಯಿತು.
