युद्धशौण्डो महाबाहुर्नित्योद्यतशरासन: । केसरीव वने नर्दन् मातड़ इव यूथपान्
yuddhaśauṇḍo mahābāhur nityodyataśarāsanaḥ | kesarīva vane nardan mātaṅga iva yūthapān ||
ಅವನು ಯುದ್ಧಶೌಂಡ, ಮಹಾಬಾಹು, ಸದಾ ಬಿಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಬಿಗಿದು ಸಿದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವವನು. ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಂಹದಂತೆ ಗರ್ಜಿಸಿ, ಮದಿಸಿದ ಆನೆಯಂತೆ ಶತ್ರುಸೈನ್ಯದ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನು ಚದುರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
श्रीवायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of constant readiness and courage in righteous combat, portraying how disciplined preparedness and fearless resolve can steady one’s side and unsettle opposing leaders—an ethical reminder that power in war is tied to responsibility and steadfastness.
Vāyu describes a formidable warrior’s battlefield presence: always prepared with bow at the ready, he advances with a roar likened to a lion in the forest and overwhelms enemy commanders like a powerful elephant scattering the leaders of a herd.
