गदया ताडयामास सा गदा भीममाव्रजत् । ज्वालासे व्याप्त हुई उस गदाको वेगसे आती देख अलायुधने उसपर अपनी गदासे आघात किया। फिर वह गदा भीमके पास ही लौट आयी
sañjaya uvāca | gadayā tāḍayāmāsa sā gadā bhīmam āvrajat |
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಗದೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಆ ಗದೆಯನ್ನು ಎಸೆದನು; ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯಿಂದ ಆವರಿತವಾದ ಆ ಗದೆ ಮಹಾವೇಗದಿಂದ ಭೀಮನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿತು. ಅದು ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ಅಲಾಯುಧನು ತನ್ನ ಗದೆಯಿಂದ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಘಾತ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಆದರೂ ಆ ಗದೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಭೀಮನ ಬಳಿಗೇ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿತು.
