नि:ःशब्दमासीत् सहसा पुन: शब्दों महानभूत् । क्रुद्धानां युध्यमानानां जीयतां जयतामपि,क्रोधमें भरकर युद्ध करते हुए पराजित एवं विजयी होनेवाले योद्धाओंका शब्द वहाँ सहसा बंद होकर कभी सन्नाटा छा जाता था और कभी पुनः महान् कोलाहल होने लगता था
niḥśabdam āsīt sahasā punaḥ śabdo mahān abhūt | kruddhānāṃ yudhyamānānāṃ jīyatāṃ jayatām api ||
ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಸಾ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ನಿಶ್ಶಬ್ದ ಆವರಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು; ಮತ್ತೆ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲೇ ಮಹಾ ಗರ್ಜನೆ ಎದ್ದೇಳುತ್ತಿತ್ತು। ಕ್ರೋಧದಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುವ—ಕೆಲವರು ಸೋಲುವ, ಕೆಲವರು ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ—ಯೋಧರ ಆ ಕೋಲಾಹಲ ಹೀಗೆ ತಕ್ಷಣ ನಿಂತು ಮತ್ತೆ ಉಕ್ಕಿಬರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು।
