तेन शब्देन महता पूरिताभूद् वसुन्धरा । रात्रि: समभवच्चैव तीव्ररूपा भयावहा,उस महान् कोलाहलसे भरी हुई वह रणभूमि और रात्रि अत्यन्त उग्र एवं भयंकर जान पड़ती थी
tena śabdena mahatā pūritābhūd vasundharā | rātriḥ samabhavac caiva tīvrarūpā bhayāvahā ||
ಆ ಮಹಾ ಗರ್ಜನೆಯಿಂದ ವಸುಂಧರೆಯೇ ತುಂಬಿ ಮಡುಗಟ್ಟಿದಂತೆ ತೋಚಿತು. ರಾತ್ರಿಯೂ ಉಗ್ರರೂಪ ಧರಿಸಿ ಭಯಂಕರವಾಯಿತು—ಆ ಕೋಲಾಹಲದ ಬಳಿಕ ರಣಭೂಮಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಭೀಕರವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿತು.
