ट्रुपदं तु सहानीकं द्रोणप्रेप्सुं महारथम् । वृषसेनो<भ्ययात् तूर्ण किर|ञ्शरशतैस्तदा,द्रोणाचार्यका सामना करनेके लिये आते हुए महारथी द्रुपदपर वृषसेनने सैकड़ों बाणोंकी वर्षा करते हुए तत्काल आक्रमण कर दिया
trupadaṃ tu sahānīkaṃ droṇaprepsuṃ mahāratham | vṛṣaseno 'bhyayāt tūrṇaṃ kirañ śaraśatais tadā ||
ದ್ರೋಣನನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಸೇನೆಯೊಡನೆ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮಹಾರಥಿ ದ್ರುಪದನ ಮೇಲೆ ವೃಷಸೇನನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನೂರಾರು ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಮಳೆಯಂತೆ ಸುರಿಸಿದನು।
