दुःशासन-सहदेव-संक्षोभः; भीम-राधेय-गदायुद्धम्; द्रोण-पार्थ-अस्त्रसंग्रामः

घोररूपं महाराज भीरूणां भयवर्धनम् | यह देख द्रोणाचार्यकी सेनासे घिरे हुए राजा दुर्योधनने भी रणभूमिमें पाण्डवोंपर आक्रमण किया। महाराज! भी कायरोंका भय बढ़ानेवाला घोर युद्ध होने लगा
ghorarūpaṃ mahārāja bhīrūṇāṃ bhayavardhanam |
ಮಹಾರಾಜ! ಭೀರುಗಳ ಭಯವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಘೋರ ಸಮರ ಉದ್ಭವಿಸಿತು. ದ್ರೋಣಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಸೇನೆಯಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತುವರಿದ ರಾಜ ದುರ್ಯೋಧನನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಪಾಂಡವರು ರಣಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು; ಆಗ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಯಾನಕ ರೂಪ ತಾಳಿತು.
