uttamābhijanī vīrau kuruvṛṣṇiyaśaskarau |

Translation

ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ವೀರರು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ವಂಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದವರು—ಒಬ್ಬನು ಕುರುಕುಲದ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ವೃಷ್ಣಿವಂಶದ ಯಶಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ಅವರು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ರಮಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ನಾನಾವಿಧ ಅಸ್ತ್ರ-ಶಸ್ತ್ರಗಳ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನೇ ಸುರಿಸಿದರು.
